Intentional Communities

A Way To Help The Chemically Injured

An Intentional Community is a group of people who choose to share their lives in some type of living arrangements. They could decide to have a common purse as in a commune, or their finances could be separate. The community might be in a rural setting or an urban city. It could be an ecovillage, cohousing, residential land trusts, student co-ops, urban housing cooperatives or some other type of related project. Their lives could be entwined together as all activities are performed together, or they might just meet together for dinner a few times a week.

For the chemically injured, forming an Intentional Community seemed like common sense. The chemically injured need fresh unpolluted air, they need fellowship with other individuals, they need an environmentally safe place where exposure to chemicals is not an everyday threat, they need organic food, they need physical help, they need a place to worship God without candles burning or scented products (perfume, after-shave lotion, etc.) making them sick. The chemically injured need hope.

AOCCCI has the dream of creating Intentional Communities throughout the United States where the chemically injured can get the help they need, whether or not they have money for food, rent, and their other needs.  But we can not do it without your help.
